Collaborations
The People for Change Foundation regularly collaborates with other organisations and institutions. We have an ongoing relationship with several European Union institutions, but have also worked with other NGOs, as well as United Nations bodies such as the UNHCR. We are currently the Maltese National Focal Point for FRANET and the National Coordinator for EWSI.

National Focal Point for the Fundamental Rights Agency of the European Union
The People for Change Foundation is the National Focal Point (NFP) for FRANET, the multidisciplinary, multi-country research network for the Fundamental Rights Agency of the European Union (FRA).
FRANET has been working since 2011 and it is composed of contractors in each EU Member State who, upon request, provide essential data to FRA on fundamental rights issues to further support their mission. |
As National Focal Point, PfC’s role includes providing research related to the different topics the FRA is charged to do research on in Malta. The Agency uses this information to write their comparative reports, publish them as self-standing national reports, compose their comparative surveys or complete the handbooks they publish.
FRA’s publications provide useful references on the situation of fundamental rights in the different member states of the EU, and are regularly used by lawmakers, CSOs, NGOs, advocacy and policy advisors or academia (among others).
The topics in which the People for Change Foundation will be working on during the next years will include, according to the FRA’s Multi-annual framework the following:

- victims of crime, including compensation to victims;
- information society and, in particular, respect for private life and the protection of personal data;
- Roma integration;
- judicial cooperation, except in criminal matters;
- rights of the child;
- discrimination;
- immigration and integration of migrants, visa and border control, and asylum;
- racism, xenophobia and related intolerance.

National Coordination: European Website on Integration
The People for Change Foundation is the National Coordinator for the European Web Site on Integration (EWSI). The website provides up-to-date information and good practices on migrant integration in Europe for policy-makers and practitioners. It is a European Commission initiative and falls under the responsibility of the Directorate-General of Migration and Home Affairs.
The European Commission is assisted by a consortium of service providers in charge of the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the website which is comprised of the two following organisations: Intrasoft International SA, responsible for technical maintenance, and the Migration Policy Group, which is responsible for content maintenance and management of a network of national experts. The People for Change Foundation is working with the Migration Policy Group as the Country Coordinator for Malta.
As country coordinator, our role includes updating the website with relevant legislation and policy documents, research and other documents, news stories, good practices and events focusing on integration in Malta. Government departments and civil society organisations engaging in such activities are encouraged to get in touch with us (on [email protected])
