Aid
PfC is a members of SKOP, the Maltese Platform of Non-Governmental Development Organizations, and active members on the Development Education working group. In the past we have also worked on the AidWatch working group, monitoring the use of Malta's ODA expenditure.
Our areas of expertise in aid are linked to project management, provision of shelter in disasters, research in both economic and social aspects of aid, and the link between migrant populations and development in countries of origin. Our current focus is in the undertaking of capacity building initiatives relating to the development of aid project and policy in Malta, as well as the establishment of a coherent aid strategy that brings together both governmental and non-governmental actors.

We are keen to transfer our skills in both research as well as project management to develop projects in the following areas:
- Development education
- Accountability in ODA
- Capacity building in aid project management
- Monitoring and evaluation of aid projects
Since 2013, the People for Change Foundation has also been a supporter of IOHSS - the International Organization for Humanitarian Studies StudentsThe key principles guiding our activities in the area are the following:
Participatory development
We believe in consultation processes on the basis of which both needs as well as responses are discussed amongst donors and recipients and developed jointly.
Empowerment
Our development effort are guided by the principle of empowerment, which means not merely the training of populations and recipients but a genuine bottom-up approach through which individuals and communities develop their own direction and whereby development aid is utilized to achieve such socio-culturally appropriate ambitions.
Human Rights Based Approach
As with all our work in the areas of human rights, migration and asylum, we maintain that a human rights based approach will ensure sustainable and sustained positive change for all groups and stakeholders involved. At every stage we will take into account the human rights needs of groups and populations.
